Provider referral rewards program

Our Provider Referral Program enables you to earn rewards by spreading the word about Headway to providers in your network! Your trust is extremely valuable to us, and we appreciate you advocating for Headway within your own community. 
 

How it works

Refer a provider

You can share your friend’s information with us directly via your referral portal, or use your unique referral link to reach more providers in your network.

Track your referrals

You can track progress on any providers you refer to Headway or those that use your unique referral link directly via your referral portal. You can use this information to nudge your friends through the onboarding process, or determine when you might expect your next referral reward.

Earn rewards

You’ll get a $350 referral reward for each referral who successfully submits their credentialing intake form. Plus, they’ll earn $100.

Who to refer to Headway (eligibility requirements)

Headway is able to support any independently licensed providers in all 50 states. We are currently not able to support any providers under supervision.

In order to be eligible for a referral reward, your referrals must meet the following criteria:

• They're licensed to practice independently in the United States.
  
  We are currently not able to support any providers under supervision. You can access the full list of licenses we support here: Headway's accepted licenses by state.
   
• They are not already a provider on Headway.
  
  Referrals must be submitted to Headway before the referred provider completes our credentialing intake form.
   
• They have not previously been referred to Headway.
  
  We’ll honor the referral reward for the first referrer if a provider has been referred to Headway by multiple referrers.

Referring a provider to Headway

There are two ways to refer a provider to Headway:

[Option 1] Share their information directly with us via your referral portal

You’ll be prompted to enter your referral’s full name, email address, phone number, license type, and state.

[Option 2] Share your unique referral link with providers in your network

You can share this directly with providers you know, or on social media for a broader reach. Then, we’ll handle the rest from there! One of our Practice Consultants will reach out to your referral directly to schedule an intro call and learn more about their practice goals.

If you’re not a provider on Headway, you can refer a provider to Headway from our website.

Tracking your referrals

Once you refer a provider to Headway, one of our Practice Consultants will reach out to them directly to schedule an intro call and learn more about their practice. If they decide to move forward with Headway, we’ll send them our credentialing intake form to start their onboarding process.

In the meantime, you can track progress on any providers you refer to Headway directly via your referral portal.

Earning referral rewards

Our reward structure enables both you and your friends to earn a reward when you refer them to Headway. There is currently no cap on your earnings or referrals.

• You’ll earn a $350 referral reward for each provider you refer to Headway who successfully submits their credentialing intake form.
• Effective December 1, 2025, your referrals will also earn a $100 referral reward once they successfully submit their intake form.

Any providers referred to Headway prior to December 1, 2025 will earn a $100 referral reward once they confirm their first session on Headway.

Navigating reward statuses

You’ll see one of four reward statuses for any referral rewards you’ve earned:

Accessing your rewards

You can redeem any earned referral rewards directly via your referral portal. As a note, you have 90 days from the reward issued date to redeem your reward.

If you referred someone to Headway

You’ll receive an email notification once you’ve earned a reward, prompting you to access your referral portal to claim your reward. 

1. Click the Claim reward now button in the email to be redirected to your referral portal
2. Once in the dashboard, click Claim reward
3. You'll be redirected to our payment partner's website, and will have the option to redeem your reward via PayPal or VISA gift card
   • If you select PayPal, we’ll send your reward to the PayPal account associated with the email you enter in the next step
   • If you select VISA gift card, we’ll send your reward directly to the email you enter in the next step
4. Enter the email address you'd like to use to claim your reward (this does not need to be the email you use for Headway)

You can always re-access the reward link by clicking the View reward button in your dashboard. If you do not claim your reward within 90 days from when it was issued, you’ll see a Reward expired status in your dashboard.

If someone referred you to Headway

You’ll receive an email notification once you’ve earned a reward, prompting you to access your referral portal to claim your reward. 

1. Click the Claim reward now button in the email to be redirected to your referral portal
2. In your referral portal, you’ll see a yellow banner at the top of your dashboard with a Claim reward button
   
3. You'll be redirected to our payment partner's website, and will have the option to redeem your reward via PayPal or VISA gift card
   • If you select PayPal, we’ll send your reward to the PayPal account associated with the email you enter in the next step
   • If you select VISA gift card, we’ll send your reward directly to the email you enter in the next step
4. Enter the email address you'd like to use to claim your reward (this does not need to be the email you use for Headway)

Additional details on earning referral rewards

• If you don’t see a View reward button in your portal for a reward earned prior to August 28th, 2024, reach out to our support team. 
• If you receive over $600 in referral rewards payments from Headway, our payment partner will also generate a 1099 for you in accordance with IRS requirements.
