Troubleshooting for calendar importing

Please note that we are only able support the following external calendar types at this time: Google Calendar, Outlook, or SimplePractice. You can follow the steps above to sync these calendars with your Headway calendar.

  • The most common issue with importing arises when providers use a public link rather than a private link
  • If you're trying to import a calendar from another third-party website or application and you're running into further issues, we suggest trying to import the third-party calendar into an Outlook or Google calendar, and then exporting that calendar link to Headway as a workaround

While external calendars are always outside of Headway’s hands, we want to make sure that we can help where possible. If you run into further issues, contact us

Syncing

Every external calendar service syncs at different rates. The service you're using requests data from the server that you've imported and, because of this, we have no control over how frequently your external calendar requests Headway’s calendar data.

For example, Google Calendar imports from external calendars only a few times per day which can result in scheduling conflicts at times. Other paid calendar options sync more frequently and should reduce conflicts.

FAQ

I'm getting a notification that says "unable to sync" when I import my calendar. What does that mean?

There is a technical bug preventing some providers from successfully syncing their external calendars. If you're getting this error message, it's likely that the bug has impacted your account. Our engineering team is aware of this issue and is actively working on fix, however, we do not yet have a timeline for when this will be resolved.

In the meantime, you can add an Unavailability block to close off any time this is already booked externally. We hope have this feature restored soon.
