We've included some tips below on setting-up your profile to increase your chances of matching with new clients from Headway's marketplace. You can edit your profile in your provider portal on the Profile Settings page.
1. Make sure you've uploaded a professional profile picture. A provider's photo plays a large part in a client's decision to book, so it's worth getting right. Consider the following:
- Accuracy: Clients want to see who you are today, so skip the filters.
- Resolution: Avoid blurriness.
- Cropping: Have your upper body (shoulders up) fill the frame without being cut off, and avoid zooming in too close.
- Backgrounds: Choose a plain wall, greenery, or another simple setting, and shoot solo.
- Lighting: Take advantage of soft, natural light, like a window or outdoors.
- Style: Use an eye-level, professional shot with a warm, welcoming smile.
If your current photo doesn't meet these standards, ask a friend to take a new one at shoulder height, in professional attire, with a warm smile.
2. Add all the Treatment Areas that apply to your practice, and update them as your focus evolves. The more accurately your profile reflects what you treat, the easier it is for the right clients to find you.
Note: Only the treatment areas you add will show up in client search results, so include every specialty that applies to your practice.
3. Add your Treatment Approaches. Clients will be able to filter based on the approaches you use in your practice.
4. Build your bio. Help prospective clients learn about you by describing the concerns you treat, your background, and what they can expect from working with you. If you're going through profile creation for the first time, you may see Check your answer, an optional prompt that gives feedback on length and tone as you write. Suggestions are yours to take or leave, but aim for 400+ characters in each section if you want a benchmark. Bios written in the first person show more engagement from patients searching for a provider.
5. To show up on Headway's marketplace, you'll need at least four hours of availability on your calendar. We recommend adding as many working hours as your schedule allows. The more availability you have, the more likely a client is to book with you.
