Viewing your rates

Your insurance rates for sessions conducted on Headway will be broken down by carrier and CPT code. 

To view them from the provider portal, Sigmund, you can:

1. Click Settings on the left sidebar of your Sigmund homepage
2. Select the Billing tab
3. Click See rates 

OR

1. Click the circle in the the top-right corner of your screen (displaying your initials)
2. Select Rates & Agreements

From Sigmund:

1. Go to Settings on the left sidebar of your Sigmund homepage
2. Select the Billing tab
3. Click See rates
4. Scroll down and select the Agreement tab

How rates are determined

At Headway, we have a team dedicated to building relationships with health plans. We work with health plans to form partnerships that benefit both Headway and the health plan by showcasing the value of our provider network. We have a team dedicated to building relationships with health plans and understanding what’s most important to each, such that we can demonstrate how our provider network reflects those values.

Once we arrive at a contract, we examine the rates and compare them to the rest of the market. We prioritize paying you competitively.

From there, we determine how much we’re able to keep on each session, if anything. We keep a small percentage of session payments to support our operations — things like credentialing, claims, and provider support. This amount varies across health plans and billing codes — we don’t keep the same amount across the board.

The amount we’re able to keep depends on the strength of the rates we’re able to negotiate. When a plan offers lower rates, we don’t always earn money on sessions. No matter what the negotiation yields, we still pay Headway providers on time every two weeks — whether or not we’ve been reimbursed by the insurance company.
