Credentialing with Military OneSource

How Military OneSource works differently than other plans

  • Requirements: Comprehensive onboarding requirements (e.g. in-person fingerprinting).
    • Please note: You are able to opt into this program without accepting children/adolescents. If you would like to also see children/adolescents, you will need to complete additional requirements.
  • Referrals process: Referrals received via phone call.
  • Billing and documentation: You'll be required to keep your notes and bill on a secondary government platform. You will still need to confirm sessions on Headway to get paid. You will get more details on the secondary government platform during training.
  • Marketing: Please do not advertise or promote your participation in MOS to prospective clients until you receive formal guidance from Evernorth.
  • CQM requirements: Passing CQM requires at least five initial assessments (90791s) completed on Headway within the past year.

 

Eligibility

  • Eligible: Solo, non-medical providers who are U.S. citizens, English-speaking, and able to complete onboarding.
  • Not eligible: Group practices, prescribers, and any providers who have not completed and passed Headway’s Clinical Quality Monitoring (CQM) review are not eligible.

    Passing CQM requires at least five initial assessments (90791s) completed on Headway within the past year, but even providers in group practices or prescribers who have passed CQM remain ineligible.

If you didn’t receive onboarding instructions, it likely means you didn’t meet one of the eligibility requirements. If eligibility expands in the future, you’ll be included in the next round of communications.

 

Getting started

Here’s a quick overview on how to get started with Military OneSource. You can scroll to each section for further detail:

  1. Opt in and start an application on Headway (~15 min)
  2. Finish onboarding requirements with support from Evernorth (~ 2-6 weeks)
    1. Completing the Declaration of Federal Employment (OF-306) form
    2. Online trainings
    3. Additional forms and in-person fingerprinting, if applicable
  3. See clients and start earning $100 per session

 

Opting in

To opt in: 

  1. Visit the provider portal
  2. Navigate to the Insurance status page
  3. Click Opt in to begin the application for MOS
  4. Submit application
